The Nore View Folk Museum is located just 6 kilometres from Kilkenny City and is situated on the outskirts of the beautiful village of Bennettsbridge, overlooking the silvery waters of the river Nore, surrounded by some of the most beautiful scenery in Ireland, including Mount Leinster and the Black Stairs Mountains. Take a little time to walk around this museum soaking in not only the history but also the great panoramic scenery of the area. The Museum houses a fine collection of objects of Irish historical interest, including a history of the Penal Times, the Great Famine, 1916 Rising and the War of Independence.

It also houses an old time Kitchen, Pub, Carpenters Workshop, Forge, Threshing Set and Dairy as well as displays of old Irish Transport and a Petrol Station, all of which reflect the lives of the ordinary people in Ireland in days gone by. A selection of wildlife exhibits are also on view. There are also a fine display musical instruments and a collection of old church items. Also on display at the Museum are a selection of old bicycles and old prams. It houses over 10,000 items some dating back to 2,000 B.C. Visitors have rated it as being one of the best exhibitions they have ever seen. There is also a library of old history books and items from as far back as the Stone Age.
